Satellite Technology Empowering Communication Amid Global Unrest

Kathleen Winn opened her January 13, 2026, show by noting the calming winds in Tucson and the value of perspectives from outside Arizona. She welcomed Chris Hoare, disaster response and telecom national security spokesperson for SAT123, a seasoned entrepreneur in satellite communications and emerging technologies.

Hoare discussed the escalating protests in Iran, describing them as a genuine grassroots movement with a stronger chance of success than the 2022 uprising. “These protests are not going away,” he said. “The sentiment didn’t disappear after the government crushed the previous ones, and the organizers are back—smarter and better equipped.”

A key factor enabling communication despite government crackdowns is the widespread use of Starlink and other satellite systems. Iranian authorities have attempted internet blackouts and GPS jamming, achieving packet loss rates between 30% and 80% in different areas, but many units remain operational. “Satellite phones and internet don’t rely on ground-based infrastructure,” Hoare explained. “They operate on different frequencies and connect directly to satellites, making them reliable even when cellular networks are down.”

Hoare emphasized SAT123’s role in providing equipment that works anywhere with a clear view of the sky. The company currently offers free satellite phones and Starlink units with activation at sat123.com. He highlighted practical uses beyond conflict zones: disaster response during wildfires, hurricanes, and tornadoes; outdoor activities in remote areas; and general preparedness for cyber attacks or grid failures.

“Whether it’s civil unrest, natural disasters, or a cyber attack taking down data centers, independent communication can be lifesaving,” Hoare said. He noted growing adoption by state and federal agencies, law enforcement, and families equipping multiple members with devices to stay connected during crises.

Rodney Glassman Makes His Case for Arizona Attorney General

Rodney Glassman, a Republican candidate for Arizona Attorney General, joined Winn to outline his vision for the office. A lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve, former prosecutor, and private-sector attorney, Glassman presented himself as the only candidate in the three-way primary with courtroom prosecution experience.

He pledged to defend Arizona laws, including those protecting girls’ sports, at the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary. With two teenage daughters who are athletes, Glassman stressed the importance of safe communities and fair competition. “The attorney general’s job is to enforce the laws on the books,” he said, citing Superintendent Tom Horne’s role in bringing the girls’ sports case forward while current AG Kris Mayes declined to defend the state.

Glassman sharply criticized Mayes, a Democrat, for suing the Trump administration 31 times in the past year and targeting entities like apartment owners and Cochise County supervisors. “We live in a Republican state—President Trump won Arizona by over five points—yet we have an unhinged Democrat attorney general wasting taxpayer dollars,” he said.

He highlighted his unique background: military service prosecuting drug dealers and financial crimes, private practice, and being the only candidate who financially supported Trump during his campaigns. Glassman positioned himself as the prosecutor who will back law enforcement, protect seniors from fraud, and maximize the AG office’s vast resources for Arizonans rather than political lawsuits.

Darla Gonzalez on Grassroots Mobilization and Keeping Arizona Free

Darla Gonzalez, grassroots director for Arizona Free Enterprise Club since 2020 and executive director of AZ Liberty Network, spoke about empowering citizens ahead of the 2026 elections.

Leaving a church administrative role in 2017 after concerns about public school curriculum and constitutional threats, Gonzalez has built a network of engaged conservatives. The club now boasts over 16,000 active grassroots members—individuals who have contacted lawmakers, attended events, or taken classes—not merely email subscribers.

Her top goal for 2026: elect a Republican governor to replace Katie Hobbs and advance pro-freedom policies. “We need to fire Hobbs,” Gonzalez said. “She’s at the center of pay-to-play scandals and continually attacks ESAs. Refuse to do nothing—get involved in at least one campaign.”

She encouraged listeners to subscribe to azfreenews.com for objective conservative reporting, join the Free Enterprise Club’s Friday legislative update calls (recorded for later viewing), and attend training classes on legislative processes and civic engagement. The AZ Liberty Network unites conservative organizations to share resources and defeat radical left policies without competing for credit.

“Don’t California My Arizona is our brand,” Gonzalez said. “We’re laser-focused on keeping California-style policies out and maintaining integrity—we’re not beholden to politicians, special interests, or donors.”

Kelly Walker on Election Integrity, Immigration, and Protecting Children

Kelly Walker, former Arizonan and publisher of Freedom Talk magazine, offered an outside perspective on the state’s political landscape.

Walker described Arizona as “a red state held captive” by corruption and election fraud. “The fraud is palpable and well-documented,” she said, noting ongoing concerns shared by Mike Lindell and President Trump. She expressed confidence that Arizonans will ultimately prevail.

On national Democratic strategy, Walker argued that coordinated protests against ICE reflect influence from figures like George Soros and the Chinese Communist Party rather than genuine grassroots sentiment. “This is unrestricted warfare—using unrestrained immigration as a weapon,” she said, citing the CCP’s own doctrine. Paid activism, identical signage across cities, and efforts to block deportations serve a broader goal of destabilizing the country.

Walker highlighted human trafficking tied to open borders and fraudulent schemes siphoning public funds. She praised athletes like Riley Gaines and detransitioner Chloe Cole for speaking out against biological males in women’s sports and the harms of youth gender transition.

Regarding education, Walker noted continued parental resistance to ideological curricula despite executive orders. She called for stronger enforcement of protections for parents labeled “domestic terrorists” under the previous administration and urged accountability for those pushing radical policies in schools.

Walker closed by announcing the People’s Tribune Council, a group of experienced patriots prepared to support and evaluate government efforts to restore justice and integrity.
