Guests – Todd Simms, Nathan Gamble, Kenneth Abramowitz

Tucson's Sudden Spring Arrival

Kathleen Winn notes the abrupt end to winter in Tucson, with temperatures hitting 85 degrees and projections for 90 next week. Her pool maintenance at 6 a.m. confirmed the shift, joking that winter lasted just a week and a half.

Introducing "Miracle on the Precipice"

Winn introduces the film Miracle on the Precipice, an independent production outside Hollywood's system. Inspired by Pilgrim's Progress, it follows a disconnected family on a camping trip that turns life-threatening, emphasizing reconnection with God. The tagline: "Faith is the only hope."

Todd Simms on the Film's Timely Message

Filmmaker Nathan Todd Simms, directed, wrote, and produced the film alongside his wife, daughter, and friend Stuart Bennett. "We went off to make a film that was an independent film that was sort of out of the Hollywood system and we wanted to make something that was going to really resonate with audiences and it sort of just gravitated along the lines of an allegory inspired by Pilgrim's Progress." Simms stresses its relevance amid global challenges: "The solution is Christ and the solution is to turn to God and that the power of God to change our lives and to reach us at a level and to bless us and to communicate with us is the most precious thing that we could ever have."

Nathan Gamble's Connection to the Lead Role

Actor Nathan Gamble, who plays 19-year-old Christian, relates personally to the character. Known for Dolphin Tale, The Dark Knight, and The Mist, Gamble was drawn to the script's biblical roots and entertainment value. "At the end of the day yes the message is sound yes it's rooted in in biblical principles uh a christ-centered life great commission etc but it also is just it's entertaining." He mirrors Christian's journey: "My own personal walk with god i had it up it's ups and downs you know i started my my career in this industry at age seven and i didn't have a grasp on what this one what the this industry meant but two what the lord had for me and i went a long time figuring that out where i wasn't acting or following the lord i was kind of just for lack of a better term just in the woods and and lost."

Family Dynamics and Relatable Themes in the Film

The story depicts a typical family: a gamer teen son, pesky adopted younger sister, busy mom on her phone, and dad facing financial issues trying to reconnect. Winn, with seven children and 19 grandchildren, relates: "I had six teenagers at the same time so i had what you had in this film time six and i was like yeah that could have been all of them at some particular time disconnected from the family." Initial problems escalate to survival, forcing reliance on faith.

Challenges in Production and Casting

Simms recalls casting Gamble: "My cast the casting director was calling me up and she was saying like hey just let you know nathan gamble has submitted for the part and he's calling me like three times a day okay so i'm looking up nathan gamble and of course i'm like oh my goodness he played sauger and dolphin tail." The independent shoot faced typical hurdles, but the team's family involvement added heart.

Personal Testimonies of Faith and Transformation

Gamble shares his struggles: "I became depressed i was full of anxiety i was suicidal at one point and that's that's what the enemy tries to drag you into a place of isolation." Turning to God brought community and purpose: "I was understanding my worth that it's not in my acting but it's actually just me being a reflection of god's creation." He ties it to selflessness: "Living a life for yourself forces you to only think of yourself and that's where christian is in the beginning of the movie."

Viewing and Supporting the Film

The film streams on Amazon Prime, with plans for wider release. Gamble and Simms encourage viewers to rate and review to boost visibility. Gamble adds: "When christian makes that decision you know what i've done it my way and that has got me literally nowhere so let me try this thing that maybe my my parents in the movie have been talking about."

Kenneth Abramowitz on Global Conflicts

Kenneth Abramowitz, founder of SaveTheWest.com and author of The Multifront War, discusses the Iran war's broader implications. "We're fighting a multi-front war in order to defend civilization against barbarism and the barbarians are the reds the communists the greens the islamists and the blues the globalists." He views the conflict as part of World War III: "We have a war of words we have a war of guns we have a war of culture and we have a war of economics."

Iran's Internal Divisions and U.S. Strategy

Abramowitz explains Iran's demographics: "80% of the people hate the regime and 20% of the people are supporters of the regime." He advocates regime change: "We should be bombing the ayatollah's house and all the government buildings and all the leaders' houses and the military leaders' houses and all the nuclear facilities and all the military facilities and all the irgc facilities." Optimistic about U.S. leadership: "We're strong enough now and we have leadership that's strong enough now so i feel very optimistic in the future after i'd say another four weeks of pain uh and hardship and bombing and oil prices high."

Alliances and Proxy Wars

Abramowitz details Iran's proxies: "The iranians have four proxies hamas hezbollah the houthis and the iraqi shiite militias." He notes regional shifts: "The sunni arab countries are not afraid of iran anymore and they're afraid of iran and now both countries are paying the penalty of not being strong enough." On Kurds: "The kurds are sunni oh they are okay all right yeah but but they're uh very friendly to america yes in a perfect world america should be working on a kurdish state."

U.K. and European Responses

Abramowitz criticizes the U.K.'s Labour Party: "The uk has a corrupt criminal organization running the country it's called the labor party and they they won through false premises there there are radical communist islamist globalist anti-british party." He suggests: "I have a theory that president trump should call for regime change in england instinct."

Accessing Abramowitz's Insights

Abramowitz invites sign-ups at SaveTheWest.com for bi-weekly articles. His book The Multifront War is available there or on Amazon: "Every week i look at a different aspect of world war what i call world war three and uh and what's the problem and what's the solution."

Pima County Election Results

Propositions 418 (the plan) and 419 (funding) passed, with 419 by a narrower margin. Winn calls for scrutiny: "It is that funding that i think is going to uh have to continue to have scrutiny and to ensure that this next 20 years unlike the last 20 years that people are held to account."

Voter Access and Mobile Voting Center Issues

Only three polling places served the county, disadvantaging remote areas like Green Valley (an hour's drive). The mobile voting center visited sporadically, with poor communication: "They said they were in sarita one day and then and then people went there the next day because the information wasn't given out." Winn pushes for more sites and pre-published schedules for the July primary.

Republican Turnout and Trends

Republicans achieved 36-37% turnout, trending positively despite being the smallest group behind Democrats and independents. Winn urges improvement: "We need to do better than that but we are trending the right way."

Election Integrity Concerns

Over 34,000 ballots returned undeliverable, signaling voter roll issues: "That's an opportunity for 34 000 people to vote or not vote or or maybe they don't live here anymore maybe they're not alive." DOJ now holds records from Arizona counties, including Maricopa. Winn questions resistance: "Chris mays adrian fontes they're trying to push back against the federal government."

ICE Detention Centers and Legal Processes

Winn clarifies: "There's usually a warrant there has to be a warrant there has to be some communication between ice uh immigration enforcement and a court and a judge so ice agents aren't randomly just going out and picking up kids out of schools." Centers process individuals humanely until legal resolution.

Political Attacks and Fact-Checking

Democrats target CD6's Juan Ciscomani with ads claiming he'll cut Medicare—Winn calls it false: "Congressman siskamani doesn't have the ability the power uh or the desire to do that." She advises: "Fact check them see what's real see what's going on be smart voters."

Criticism of CD7 Representative

Winn critiques Adalita Grijalva for skipping the State of the Union: "To not show up to the state of the union her very first chance to do so when elected to serve and represent all the people in cd7 uh that was a political statement."

Upcoming Elections and Candidate Deadlines

Arizona primary is July 21; signatures due March 21. Winn warns: "Everyone can't go in at the last minute on the 21st so i'm going to really encourage all candidates to get your signatures done by this weekend." Texas runoff between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton noted.

Pima County's Legislative Districts

Seven districts, with LD18 fully in Pima, others multi-county. LD17 is largest, partly in Pinal.

Broader State Issues

Winn lists priorities: "We need to take care of our homeless problem we need to take care of our drug problem we need to take care of our corruption problem." Arizona dropped from 4th to 47th in productivity.

Citizenship and Voting

Winn asserts: "Only u.s. citizens should vote that should be fundamental if you're here and or other means you don't get a say."

Becoming a Precinct Committeeman

Winn encourages involvement: "If you want to become a precinct committeeman we'd love to have you."

Weekend Sports Outlook

Selection Sunday at 3 p.m. Arizona time for brackets: "We'll find out who our first round is and what bracket and where we're going to go."
