Kathleen Winn Blasts Senator Mark Kelly’s “Dangerous” Call for Troops to Disobey Orders – and Arizona Radio Host Pulls No Punches

Tucson conservative radio host Kathleen Winn opened Tuesday’s *Winn Tucson* broadcast on 1030 The Voice with a fiery takedown of Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, accusing the retired Navy captain and astronaut of undermining the President and the chain of command in a controversial video featuring six Democratic lawmakers urging military members not to follow “unlawful orders.”

Winn declared the move “shame on Senator Kelly” and warned that Kelly, as the only retired officer among the six and still receiving military retirement benefits, remains subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and could theoretically face recall to active duty and court-martial.

“His oath doesn’t go away when you retire – especially when you’re still cashing those retirement checks,” Winn told listeners. “This wasn’t some vague statement. They told troops the administration is pitting the military against American citizens. That’s a crock, and it’s dangerous.”

Military Veteran Caller: “Kelly Is the Only One Still Subject to UCMJ”

Winn brought on Joel Strabala, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and combat pilot from Desert Storm, who echoed her outrage.

“Mark Kelly is the only one of the six who retired rather than simply separated,” Strabala explained. “That means he’s still under UCMJ jurisdiction. The rest severed ties cleanly. For a former leader to say these things ticks me off to no end as a warfighter.”

Strabala walked listeners through the chain of command: the President sits at the very top, followed by the Secretary of Defense, then general officers, with Judge Advocate General lawyers ensuring legality every step of the way.

“Nobody wants troops second-guessing lawful orders on the battlefield,” he said. “We train constantly on what is and isn’t a legal order. If Senator Kelly were still on active duty and said this, he’d be removed for cause – career over.”

Both Winn and Strabala dismissed Democratic claims that the video was merely reminding troops of their duty to disobey illegal orders.

“There hasn’t been a single unlawful order given,” Winn fired back. “This was a Hail Mary after the government shutdown fight flopped. Now they’re playing victim when President Trump calls it seditious.”

George Khalaf Announces Run for Arizona Legislature LD-3

Later in the program, Winn enthusiastically welcomed George Khalaf, president of Data Orbital polling and a longtime conservative activist, who formally announced his campaign for the open Arizona House seat in Legislative District 3 (Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area).

Winn called it “an early Christmas present” and offered an immediate on-air endorsement.

Khalaf laid out his top priorities:

1. **Affordability and a pro-family economy** – “Even in the Northeast Valley people are telling me their kids and grandkids can’t afford homes or to start families.”

2. **Public safety** – Backing law enforcement, tackling drugs and homelessness still spilling across the border.

3. **Education** – Supporting school choice, Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs), and a return to core academics.

Khalaf also highlighted election integrity as a continuing passion, praising the recently introduced “Secure Elections Act” that would clean voter rolls, end late early-voting, and deliver same-night results like Florida.

“Arizona Republicans now enjoy the largest voter-registration advantage in state history – 7.8%,” Khalaf told listeners. “Four years ago it was only 3–3.5%. We’ve added voters every single quarter for over two years. Now we have to turn them out.”

Private Investigator Nils Grevillius on Crime, Serial Killers, and California’s Collapse

In the final hour, Los Angeles-based private investigator and author Nils Grevillius joined Winn for a wide-ranging discussion on crime trends.

On the three Jacksonville, Florida women murdered in three days that sparked serial-killer rumors:

“I’m concurring with local law enforcement – no serial killer,” Grevillius said. “The cases have different circumstances, different suspects, and no consistent signature. Jacksonville has an urban crime problem, but this isn’t one man.”

He warned holiday travelers to stay vigilant against carjackings, follow-home robberies, and parking-garage assaults, while praising the Trump administration’s early success in driving down violent crime in cities that requested federal help.

Grevillius saved his harshest words for blue-state governance, particularly California:

“Democrats have sold equity in their enterprise to the criminal class,” he charged. “Here in L.A. we have a majority-female city council and county board, yet teenage girls – many of them unaccompanied illegal minors – are trafficked in broad daylight on Figueroa Boulevard, and not one of these ‘feminist’ leaders lifts a finger.”

He called California’s elimination of the felony-murder rule and “harm-reduction” drug policies deliberate sabotage that keeps addicts cycling through jails and treatment centers while NGOs and bureaucrats cash taxpayer checks.

“Real recovery requires abstinence and hard detox,” Grevillius insisted. “Anything else is just slow-motion murder with better PR.”

The three-hour broadcast closed with Winn urging listeners to enjoy Thanksgiving gratefully but stay vigilant – both at the ballot box and on the streets.

“America is turning the corner,” she said, “but only if we keep fighting for it every single day.”
